Would Conscription Result in Fewer Wars?
September 13, 2015
Sometimes people write me and suggest that if we had a draft then it would result in fewer wars because the children of politicians and the rich would be at risk of being drafted and therefore their parents would think twice about supporting war. David Henderson does a fine job of answering this suggestion. And, of course, as he mentions, a draft or required national service would be government slavery.
