I am not old enough to remember saluting the flag like this when I was in school. Since we now live in a fascist state, perhaps we should bring back the old Pledge salute. The sad thing about the Pledge is that some of its biggest supporters are conservative Christians.

Update: several have written to say that they are old enough to remember doing this. Others said that they have parents who told them that they remember doing this. I suppose that some will still refuse to believe it. Probably the same people who refuse to believe that all drugs were once legal in this country.
