When will the MH17 report appear? Will it be complete, detailed and credible? Will it settle the matter of how MH17 was shot down? On August 7, the Wall Street Journal carried an item saying that investigators hoped to file a preliminary report “next week”. The Dutch investigators said in a couple of weeks. That time is now upon us.
It is possible to reach a persuasive conclusion of at least part of the story by examination of all the evidence. But whether a complete investigation of even that part is being carried out or has been accomplished remains to be seen.
UPDATE. The Dutch report won’t be released until September. Furthermore, their comments suggest that it likely will not be based upon an examination of the debris on the ground. But such an examination is critical to figuring out what occurred.
