Why Should the U.S. Care What Happens in Burundi?
July 22, 2015
The U.S. State Department has said that Burundi’s elections on Tuesday “lacked credibility” and the voting “will further discredit the government.” Why should the U.S. care what happens in Burundi? Another corrupt election in a corrupt state. What business is it of ours? U.S. foreign interventions include much more than sending troops to places they have no business going. Neutrality should be observed in all things.
