While the Empire Funds Overseas Wars…

September 28, 2024

…a 1000 year flood strikes the southern Appalachians and beyond, on the heels of Hurricane Helene who has done her work enthusiastically further south, destroying towns and infrastructure, disrupting and eliminating communications, utilities, and transportation.  The cost to rebuild will run to the tens of billions. In a 24 hour period, Western NC got a rare taste of what war does, and most were not prepared.  Washington, apparently recovering from defending all its expensive warmongering in Israel and Ukraine this week, has remained silent.  The feds consume 25% of GDP (by their own count), the cost of its regulatory interference is another 12%.  Unfunded debt has accumulated to anywhere from $100 K to $200 K per citizen.  DC makes us weaker, the empire it requires makes us weaker.   I agree with the majority of the planet that “the one thing” we could do, to reduce human suffering and economic misery here and around the world, is becoming increasingly obvious.
