The War Itself Is a Crime

The U.S. troops who defended our freedom by attacking a hospital in Afghanistan and killing 42 people did not commit a war crime, says the Pentagon; they only committed a mistake. This is an outrage, of course, but let’s never lose sight of the big picture: the war in Afghanistan is itself a crime. Bush and company are the real war criminals.
