are the answer. Uber is such a great example of the market, freed from the regulatory state, creating jobs and offering better service and prices to consumers. Yes, some taxi drivers are now Uber drivers, but many are net-new drivers. As pointed out previously, Uber is actually creating demand for taxi-like services with Uber-level service. Uber just released some more internal numbers-they added 40,000 drivers in December alone. Driver are making more (before costs) than Taxi drivers. The big losers in all this are the rent-seeking cabbie cartels.
