Virginia’s General Assembly is Brandon’s Poster Boy for Gun Control

Virginia’s General Assembly has been infiltrated by Democrats and this year all the gloves came off for turning our state into a leftist paradise like California and New York.  Those states are crime and filth havens that people and businesses are fleeing in droves because of what these very same people who now have the majority here want to do.

Thumbing it’s nose at the Bruen decision, the hoplophobes have sent 36 bills to Governor Youngkin that are all aimed at destroying some aspect of your ability to defend yourself against criminals or a tyrannical government.  Fortunately, he has vetoed 2 and amended another.  There are 33 bills that the Governor has 30 days to act on.

For those that wish to add their kind and educated words to help influence the Governor’s decision, I present to you what I sent to him as an example:

Dear Governor Youngkin,

The Democrats in the General Assembly want to turn the state over to the criminals by releasing them early or not punishing them at all, but making a criminal class out of firearms owners.

To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow.

This is literally the destruction of law abiding society here in Virginia. You cannot control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding.

Please stop this insanity and send a strong message to the Democrats: Punish violent criminals and leave the rights of law-abiding citizens alone, which is what you basically said in your State of the Commonwealth speech in January.
