U.S. – Saudi Quid Pro Quo?

Did the Saudis agree to let the oil spigot run so as to drop the price of oil, harming the ruble, in exchange for the U.S. agreeing to help the Saudis launch an attack on Yemen?

If we find out years from now as memoirs are written and archives opened, if they are, that this is what happened, it still must be counted a very dumb two moves on the part of Washington. Antagonizing and harming Russia is every bit as dumb as bombing Yemen.
