Vox.com ran a story in September 2016 with a headline that had Your Intrepid Reporter nigh jumping for joy: “The TSA is a waste of money that doesn’t save lives and might actually cost them”!
Beginning with the TSA’s failure to catch 95% of the contraband flowing past its absurd checkpoints, the article noted that security theater is so annoying, it pushes people to drive—a far more dangerous mode of transportation than flying. Hence, a greater number of fatalities.
But, as Breitbart.com points out, Vox has “done an epic flip-flop on importance of TSA”—because Trump. It now moans, “To build the wall, Trump is sacrificing airport security during the government shutdown” as if that’s a bad thing! “Hundreds of TSA agents have called in sick, and airport security officials may have to loosen standards.” Yeah, maybe they’ll only gate-rape passengers from the waist down.
So if you must fly, do so now: “president of the national TSA employee union Hydrick Thomas” alleges that the goons’ “absence … could … lead to skimping on safety precautions. … airport screeners will likely do fewer random pat-downs, bag inspections, and other screenings.” Oh, I loooooove shutdowns!
