Tony Snow: Conservative Sellout

September 30, 2006

I never cared much for Tony Snow’s brand of conservatism back when I used to hear him guest-host Rush Limbaugh’s radio show (perhaps because he had been a speech writer for George Bush I). I care even less for his defense of the Bush Administration in his role as the president’s press secretary. How can any man who calls himself a conservative defend this administration? He is now a complete conservative sellout. But really, haven’t we seen enough over the years to know that they are all sellouts? Most conservatives never met a federal program they didn’t like—as long as it furthered their agenda. And as Ralph Raico pointed out once: “Conservatives are known for their blind nationalism, their readiness to engage in military adventure throughout the world, their envious Puritanism.”
