Well, the Great, Great Beautiful Wall of America has already hit a snag and they haven’t even begun work on it yet. (The no-bid contract hasn’t been awarded yet, I would guess.) The Tohono O’odham Nation here in Arizona, whose reservation sits on the border, have stated they will not allow the wall to be built across their land. Now, their land is where the border is, so there isn’t the ability to build around it. Meaning, Trump will have to violate private property rights (and tribal sovereignty) to build the wall on their land. He can’t build the wall into Mexico, or they’ll just call in combat engineers to blow it in place. That is, if they even allow it to be built, which they won’t.
Okay, so we’re already into private property rights here. They won’t be able to build the wall across Tohono O’odham land without a major lawsuit in federal court that could go on for years. But at the end of the day, tribal sovereignty cannot be violated to build this wall. What this means is there will be a huge hole in the Great, Great Beautiful Wall of America. This wall is just for show and it’s a scam. Anyone with sense sits down and counts up the costs before he begins a project. If Trump didn’t see that Tohono O’odham reservation sitting smack dab on the border and find out if they’d be okay with a wall before blathering on about it, it kind of makes you wonder. Maybe this wall is really about a big, fat, no-bid contract.
Hey, don’t take my word for it. Look it up. This wall is already a white elephant.
