Thursday in NYC: Woods and Malice Debate Alexander Hamilton

December 1, 2015

On Thursday, December 3, I will be participating in a debate on the following proposition: “Alexander Hamilton was a hero for the cause of liberty.” I will be arguing in the negative. Arguing in the affirmative will be Michael Malice, a smart guy I like very much, but whose view of Hamilton is, well, not supportable.

The debate will take place at the General Society Library, 20 West 44th Street, with doors opening at 7:00pm. Moderating the debate will be Gene Epstein, economics editor at Barron’s. It’s an Oxford-style debate, which means the audience is polled before and after, and whichever side has changed net opinion in its favor is declared the winner.

There should be video posted of the debate, and I plan to post the audio as a future episode of my podcast, which reached episode #545 today.
