Those Rothschild ‘Quotes’
November 9, 2010
As Gary North has pointed out, and I too have known for a long time, no one has yet cited the source for this alleged quote from Mayer Amschel Rothschild (the man who founded the international banking House of Rothschild):
“Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who rules.”
Another alleged quote (which Gary didn’t mention)—attributed to Philippe de Rothschild—is:
“Buy when there’s blood running in the street.”
If anyone reading this post has actually read the source of either of these two quotes, please email me and I will post your source(s). Please do NOT send me an email stating that you “think” it might be in such-and-such. Unless you yourself have read the original source, I’m not interested. I only make this admonition because I just wasted an hour of my life at the Fifth Avenue Library in Manhattan reading Lord Rothschild‘s book Shadow of a Great Man after I had read something by someone on the internet claiming that this book was the source for the above alleged quotes. They were not in there. Also, after reading a number of books on the Rothschilds, I only would consider as legitimate sources either personal Rothschild family correspondence or Rothschild family member diary entries. Newspaper articles from that time could be just as bogus as the media are today. (I know—you’re “shocked.”)
