The National Security Lie
June 16, 2020
I am not a fan of Donald Trump, and am even less of a fan of John Bolton, but I see that Trump has sued Bolton over a book that Bolton wrote that is due to be published next week. Trump is citing national security concerns.
I am not a fan of the ACLU either, but an ACLU lawyer said it best: “As usual, the government’s threats have nothing to do with safeguarding national security, and everything to do with avoiding scandal and embarrassment.”
Laurence M. Vance [send him mail] writes from central Florida. He is the author of The Free Society; War, Christianity, and the State: Essays on the Follies of Christian Militarism; War, Empire, and the Military: Essays on the Follies of War and U.S. Foreign Policy; King James, His Bible, and Its Translators, and many other books. His newest book is The U.S. Proxy War in Ukraine.
