The Mormon Church and Marijuana
June 28, 2018
The state of Utah will have a ballot initiative in November regarding the legalization of medical marijuana. The Mormon Church, although not yet directly opposing the initiative, released a statement “praising the Utah Medical Association (UMA) for speaking out against the medical marijuana initiative.” Medical Marijuana “would compromise the health and safety of Utah communities.”
Update: The Mormon Tabernacle Choir just had a rehearsal with the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus. Isn’t this a little inconsistent for religious people?
