The GOP’s Abiding Death Wish
December 30, 2010
Apparently, a Bush lifer wants to reform the Republican National Committee. Lobbyists love her, Mary Matalin loves her, Big Pharma loves her — what’s not to like?
Her campaign is a thinly-veiled attempt to keep in the driver’s seat the people who destroyed the party. We offer an observation by Eric Voegelin to clear things up:
“A reform cannot be achieved by a well-intentioned leader who recruits his followers from the very people whose moral confusion is the source of disorder.”
