The Fifth Branch of the Military

Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and the University of Michigan. The school will have a Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, Sept. 13, in conjunction with the Michigan vs. Miami (Ohio) football game.

The festivities will include a moment of silence, a 21-gun salute, two large American flags held by vets and active troops, the release of an American bald eagle, and a flyover of five jets. An injured Iraq War vet will join the Michigan captains at midfield for the coin toss, and a Korean War vet will be recognized as “Veteran of the Game.” The band’s halftime show will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the national anthem.

It doesn’t matter how many U.S. soldiers go back to Iraq. It doesn’t even matter what country the USA bombs next, Americans will support the troops no matter what. Americans are military crazy. What else can I say?
