The Enemies He Has Made
February 3, 2005
For his eloquent and truth-telling book on American history, Tom Woods has been attacked by as fine a collection of envious smear-artists as I’ve encountered outside the Beltway. I can say, with Gen. E.S. Bragg, nominating Grover Cleveland at the 1884 Democratic convention:
“They love him, gentlemen, and they respect him, not only for himself, but for his character, for his integrity and judgment and iron will; but they love him most for the enemies he has made.”
Congratulations also to Tom for his much-needed third new book, now being shipped to stores and Amazon, on The Church and the Market: A Catholic Defense of the Free Economy.
