The Acceptable Kind of Catholic School Boy

That would be New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who was educated at St. Gerard Majella School, Archbishop Molloy High School, and Fordham University.  Sixteen years of Catholic School education.  With a smirking grin on his face in front of a room full of cheering and clapping Leftists, the governor signed into law a new abortion law that:

  • Enshrines the “right” of abortion in the New York constitution.
  • Allows non-physicians to perform abortions.  (So much for the old argument that, if abortion were illegal, then there would be many “back-alley abortions” performed by non-physicians.  The Cuomo abortion law will do this).
  • Permits abortions all the way through the end of the ninth month of pregnancy.
  • Removes legal protections of babies that survive the abortion, allowing them to be left to die.
  • No longer considers it to be a homicide if a pregnant mother is murdered and the baby dies.

Cuomo is keeping his campaign promise that pro-life supporters “have no place” in New York state, said the grandson of Sicilian immigrants.  How Mussolini-like.  Next on his legislative agenda:  a new law that would empower the state to “investigate” (i.e. regulate out of business) pregnancy centers that assist pregnant women with their pregnancies.   The nuns at St. Gerard Majella must be so proud of little Andy.  It just might win him the Nobel Peace Prize — especially if he runs for president.  Margaret Sanger, the eugenicist founder of Planned Parenthood, must be looking up and smiling at Cuomo.
