People who go into armed government units tend to like killing. Indeed, they thrill to it. But, even aside from their extreme costs, such units are hardly in the people’s interest. If a hostage is being held, why not let priests or ministers talk to the guy, for example, and not government “chaplains,” either. Anything has to be better than the Swatters.
