Spy Scandal
December 17, 2005
The conservative-administration whining over the revelations of some of Emperor Junior’s illegal spying is instructive. (“Dangerous to our national security!!”) It’s proof, once again, that official secrets exist to keep Americans ignorant. Or are we really supposed to think that terrorists in the US phoning Osama in his Bat Cave would expect no wiretaps? Heck, what American expects to be safe from eavesdropping? (BTW, thanks to James Wolcott for the great ‘Emperor Junior’ moniker.)
