Shame on You Albert

Albert Mohler is the president of The Southern Baptist Seminary and Boyce College, both in Louisville, as well as the president of the Evangelical Theological Society. He is a well respected and very popular evangelical. And for years now he has been apologist for the evil that is U.S. foreign policy. In a gushing article celebrating Madeleine Albright after her death on March 23, Mohler never mentioned Albright’s infamous statement that the deaths of over 500,000 Iraqi children because of devastating U.S. sanctions imposed on Iraq following the Gulf War was “worth it.” He did mention that she “was an advocate for an assertive U.S. foreign policy” and an “advocate for the use of U.S. military force around the world,” but had nothing negative to say about it. Mohler also never mentioned that, as secretary of state, Albright oversaw a U.S. foreign policy that was reckless, belligerent, and meddling. It is no surprise that Mohler takes the news media, comic book, neo-con, militarist conservative view of the war in Ukraine. Putin “wants to destroy Western unity and defeat Western ideals.” He will “invade his neighbors and seize their territory, intimidate their people, undermine their government, and squash all opposition.” After Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic states “are next in line.” I think the Covid vaccine that Mohler took has distorted his thinking.
