Ron Paul: Common Sense Instead of the GOP Line

From Bennett Roth in the Houston Chronicle on Ron in NH: “On Saturday morning Paul sought to woo undecided voters who had gathered at the home of Ross Taylor, an independent voter, in Milford.

“The lawmaker pressed his case that he wants to reduce the federal role in education, return the country to the gold standard, and keep U.S. troops from being sent overseas without congressional approval.

“Paul said that in recent years the case for war had been hyped, saying , ‘there is always some Hitler we have to stop.’

“When asked if he thought the Constitution was outdated, he responded ‘I think it is ignored.’

“Taylor, a 46-year-old software salesman who has been considering McCain, said the get-together persuaded him to vote for Paul.

“‘Obviously Dr. Paul is not talking the Republican Party line. He is using common sense,’ Taylor said.” Read the rest.
