Rise of Demonstrations in the 10s

A “Boston Free Speech Rally” is scheduled. Demonstrations in order to express political views appear to be growing in size, intensity and frequency. An earlier sign was the large Women’s March on Washington. There have been numerous protests against Trump, and these are tabulated. The number is very large.
The 60s saw many demonstrations for a variety of causes. The 70s were pretty wild. Relative quietude set in thereafter and lasted until now. In the 10s, we are now witnessing a big rise in demonstrations.
Many questions surround the remarkable rise of demonstrations in the 10s, and these should make for numerous stories. Dominant narratives about this ongoing phenomenon remain to be discovered, written about and shaped. This should be a big target area for research of many kinds. It’s really a huge story.
