The debt ceiling is about to take effect again. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has called on Congress to raise the federal debt ceiling “at the first opportunity.” Will the Republicans who control Congress do so? Of course they will. You didn’t think they would actually slash government spending, did you?
