Regime Truthers
March 2, 2015
Some people within Google and their allies want to suppress dissent on the internet by ranking sites by alleged truthfulness rather than traffic. How to determine truth? We’re told that what everyone believes is true, as measured by regime sites, so for example, vaccination articles that do not support Big Pharma-CDC-FDA will be penalized. Of course, there are huge and growing numbers of vaccine-skeptics, thus the media hysteria, and further marginalizing these parents, and hiding the facts from them, is what the proposed suppression is all about. Popular opposition may stop the scheme, but whether it does or not, LRC will not bend the knee.
Writes Nick:
The way I see it, if Google fundamentally changes their method for site ranking, they risk their dominance in the search market.
It is Google’s fairly unbiased page rank criteria that helped those that appreciate said search results that gave them their profits (clearly disclosing the ad paid results as well), and a move away from that can also take those profits away.
It might hurt sites like LRC in the beginning in terms of revenue if such a change were to occur, but long term Google is the one most likely to suffer.
It only took Google 5 years to surpass Yahoo in the search market; it can just as quickly change again. People prefer unbiased, decentralized search results over that of centralized system. (especially libertarians!).
Keep doing what you do; it’s greatly appreciated by many, including Google users.
