Allan Stevo shared with me some of the responses he received to his recent article, “14 Ways to Be Civilly Disobedient.”

Read your article on LRC this morning, great to see more people are standing against the corona hoax. Also thought that a call for civil disobedience on April 19 the anniversary of the shot heard ’round the world would be fitting.

That would be tomorrow, folks. Get out there and defy these thugs, sociopaths and tyrants who’ve ruined our world, cost us our jobs, and destroyed our hopes and dreams.

I called the number you provided for Malibu Police Department – (818) 878-1808 – to complain about their arrest of the paddleboarder. From the first number, I had to tell them what city I was calling to complain about, then they transferred me to MPD, then they transferred me to the Watch Commander. I spoke with him and basically just said, “I’m calling to register a complaint. The arrest was totally uncalled for and a waste of police resources.” He sounded a little confused, said that in the next couple days the arrested man will be issuing an apology, asked for my name/number and said he would give it to the man’s lawyer. I declined to provide and just kept reiterating that it was ridiculous for the man to be compelled to issue an apology and instead the department should be apologizing to him for violating his rights. I kept reiterating until the commander had to take another call.

It felt like a very productive use of my time. At the end, as the commander kept asking for my name/number, I just kept telling him that I’m a resident of CA and I want him to soberly take into account my complaint. I just kept pushing. I am so glad you provided the number, recommended the call, and I really hope lots of other people do the exact same thing. Please call. And call. And call.

In Hamilton Alabama where I live police have fined one woman for not closing her consignment sale on the day the lockdown started. She closed the next day. They also threatened the menswear store next door. He also closed. We are not allowed to have yard sales. But the owner of a second hand store ironically named Rebel Yard Sales has never closed. I am friends with the owner and go there almost every day. When I told him about other people being fined he said f— em I’m not closing if people want to come here to buy or sell I will be here 7 days a week. I shop there almost daily. It may not seem like much but seeing this man named Paul out there every day in defiance has given me the strength to persevere with my f— authority attitude when everyone else is cowering in their homes. I just want to recognize his strength publicly. Sorry for the strong language.

Ah, but thanks to you and Paul for your strong attitudes.
