Well, Lew, Cato used to be more tolerant. They never dumped former Congressman Dick Armey, whose association with them was trumpeted and promoted despite the fact that Armey was so homophobic that he once publicly called his “colleague” Congressman Barney Frank “Barney Fag,” and made the juvenile comment that “if there was a dick army Barney Frank would join it.”
But of course that was before the Cato Institute became the Gayto Institute and came up with the ridiculous idea that one must not just be tolerant (the real libertarian viewpoint) but voice approval and become a champion of the bedroom behavior of homosexuals in order to be a “libertarian.” This nonsense was stated by an anonymous Cato/Gayto employee in the Daily Beast article cited in your post.
