Chris one thing that jumped out at me from Novak’s piece is his positive references to the United Nations’ Declaration of Human Rights, which explicitly embraces the notion that our rights come from the state.

One can’t expect Bush or most of the neocons to understand, but Novak should be able to grasp how deification of the welfare-warfare state and its’ ideology of democratic imperialism violates the First Commandment.
