Regarding Karen’s post about Vermont, check out the web site of the “Second Vermont Republic” (www.vermontrepublic.org). This is an organization founded by academics, among others, who want Vermont to secede. They have held mock town hall meetings on secession all throughout the state, and the non-binding votes that they have taken have been almost uniformly in favor of seceding from the federal Leviathan.
