These guys were smart to not drive a convoy without support, particularly one with fuel trucks. If the commanders wanted to get the fuel they needed at the points they wanted, it would be a tactical mistake to let a convoy of fuel to move without cover, particularly in a guerrilla zone. The officers who ordered such a stupid move should be relieved from command.

Of course these guys are running around with insufficient gear and support. Von Mises is right, economic calculation is impossible in socialist organizations.
