Ryan: As Paul Feyerabend and Steven Weinberg have observed in the development of the physical sciences, and as the study of economics confirms, trying to understand how the world works by adhering to pre-determined rules of inquiry, will be self-defeating. Such an approach only ends up confirming the validity of the ideas with which we began our inquiries.
