A D.C. libertarian friend of mine once said that after a panel discussion on regulation at one of the think tanks he offered Ralph Nader a ride home since it was a winter night and Nader is famously car-less. During the trip to Nader’s million dollar Georgetown townhouse, my friend recalled, the thought did enter his mind of how much good he would do for humanity by driving off the 14th Street bridge with Nader in the car!
