In the discussion below about part of Fulton County, Georgia wanting to secede from greater Atlanta, notice the race-baiting headline in the Assoicated Press story about “white suburbs” wanting to leave Atlanta. Unlike the AP writer,I’ve spent a good amount of time in Fulton County, and there are many thousands of black people who live and work there. It’s an affluent county with lots of amenities and black professionals, like white, brown, yellow, green and blue professionals, see it as a desirable place to live. The greatest benefit of Fulton County’s secession is that it would force Atlanta’s corrupt politicians to face the reality that they do not have an unlimited supply of tax dollars with which they can bail themselves out year after year. They would be forced to act more responsibly or get lost. They know this, which is why they’re already threatening “blood on the walls.”
