Putin’s Brain

Keith Preston notes: “Vladimir Putin’s name is known throughout the world. Alexander Dugin’s name, not so much. But to people in the know, Alexander Dugin is a very important name, as the Russian public intellectual says what Putin thinks. The Agenda examines the man who has been called “Putin’s brain.”

From 1917 to 1991, Russia was ruled under the oppressive scientistic rubric of Marxism/Leninism. Perhaps Putin the traditionalist is seeking both a return to Russia’s roots and a new geostrategic vision for Eurasia free of American imperial hubris and arrogance. Nevertheless it is important to objectively assess Alexander Dugin and his impact in shaping Putin’s world-view. Ideas have consequences.
