POTUS’s SOTU

ElizabethTaylor.jpgI had fun at the State of the Union, in 1979. Not that I paid much attention to the government godlings on the floor below. Soon after I took my seat, I noticed everyone looking generally in my direction rather than the Congress’s. Turning around, I saw–just a few rows behind me–Elizabeth Taylor. Her fame and money had just elected her sixth husband, the handome, militaristic moron John Warner, to the Senate from Virginia. And yes, her dark hair, pale complexion, and piercing blue-violet eyes were astounding. What else happened? Darned if I know.
