“Police Are Solving Fewer Murders During Covid-19 Pandemic”

December 28, 2020

Homicides were up nearly 40% for the country’s 10 largest police departments in the first 11 months of 2020 compared to the same period last year. The clearance rate at nine departments that provided data was down by an average of 7 percentage points to about 59%.

Ah, Leviathan! The most common excuse for political government is that it allegedly preserves life and property. Yet Our Rulers are egregiously failing to do either or, even more tragically, refusing to try. Nor can they identify the killers that exploit this dereliction.

Recall that the State not only monopolizes “solving crimes,” it also outlaws and vehemently condemns “vigilante” justice. So what’s a victim to do?

The sudden rise of homicides across the country, a reversal after a general decline in the nationwide murder rate since the early 1990s, has overwhelmed detectives … Among other factors, Covid-19 has complicated face-to-face interviews and made it easier for masked suspects to elude capture…

Or, as Mark Luedtke, who sent me the article, speculates,

I wonder if people wearing masks and cops spending resources enforcing mask mandates has anything to do with this.

Yo, Statists: don’t hobble yourselves with such nonsense as the COVIDCon. You’re already “working” under tremendous disadvantages as opposed to those that confront laborers in the free market.
