Of Petitions, Integrity, and the Right Side of History

December 20, 2016

There may be one person even sorrier than Hitlary that Trump won: the heroic Ed Snowden. After all, “Donald Trump in 2013 called Snowden a ‘terrible traitor’ and hinted that he should be killed.”

Indeed, rather than going after Hitlary for her many crimes, “the incoming Trump administration is stepping up its efforts to arrest Snowden…” To which Heroic Ed responded, “I don’t care. The reality here is that yes, Donald Trump has appointed a new director of the Central Intelligence Agency who uses me as a specific example to say that, look, dissidents should be put to death… It doesn’t actually matter that much to me, because I believe in the decisions that I’ve already made.”

That’s integrity, folks; remember it? Such an incredibly rare virtue these days, especially on the public stage, and now we know why: because Heroic Ed’s been hogging all of it.

At any rate, Amnesty International is petitioning That Louse Obummer to pardon Heroic Ed during these waning days–oh, joy!!!!–of the Louse’s usurpation. I have little to no faith in petitioning Our Rulers; they’ve forcefully and repeatedly demonstrated that we have abandoned democracy for dictatorship, as have so many empires before us. (The fact that we must appeal to a narcissistic thug like Obummer to “pardon” a patriot who deserves highest acclimation speaks eloquently about American degeneracy.) But I signed the petition and urge you to do so as well. Perhaps it will help Heroic Ed; at the least, historians who one day survey our times with the horror we reserve for Nazi Germany will know we signatories were on the right side.
