One More Parade

Thanks to Per Bylund and Wally Conger for this YouTube featuring Phil Ochs. I heard him perform in a small coffee house in 1968, and he was definitely the balladeer of the anti-Vietnam war movement. Here’s a clip 1969 with his most famous antiwar song, I Ain’t Marchin’ Anymore.

One More Parade

They Might Be Giants has remade a great anti-war song by Phil Ochs and made a chilling video to go along with it. This verse from the lyrics particularly struck me:

So young, so strong, so ready for the war
So willin’ to go an’ die upon a foreign shore
All march together, everybody looks the same
So there is no one you can blame
Don’t be ashamed, light the flame
