What?! It’s Not Sincere?!

May 25, 2016

A young person just becoming interested in national politics would be inclined to believe that Hillary Clinton must be the most beloved politician in all of history — if not the most beloved human being, period.  After all, every time one of her sound bite events is flashed on the television screen you see the exact same thing:  Hillary Clinton snarls some smartass remark in response to a criticism of her, followed by a loud uproar of cheers, whistles, clapping, and rather hysterical celebrating — even if it appears that there are only a dozen or so people in attendance.  Did Jesus Christ himself receive such loud public adoration?

Friends who are much more cynical than I am claim that this is all choreographed, and that the cheering crowds are paid political hacks employed by the Clinton campaign.  But how could that be?  It would be, well, deceptive and dishonest.  “Crooked,” if you will.  Maybe I won’t buy one of those “I’m Ready for Hillary” bumper stickers for my car after all.
