Lee surrendered at Appomattox when Grant, Sherman, Sheridan, Custer, and other Union Army luminaries commenced a twenty-five year war of genocide against the Plains Indians that included the routine mass murder of Indian women and children.  “The only good Indian is a dead Indian,” declared Sherman and Sheridan, the founding fathers of racial harmony in America.
