Nobel Peace Prize Nomination
July 24, 2016
I don’t know how, or by whom, Nobel Peace Prize nominations are made, but I would like to nominate WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, Ed Snowden, and Chelsea Manning as group recipients for the next prize. This would also provide the Prize committee with the opportunity to overcome the stigma of such past awards being given to the likes of Henry Kissinger, Woodrow Wilson, the United Nations, the European Union, and Barack Obama – among others – and help to reestablish “peace” as a social virtue.
Butler Shaffer was Professor Emeritus at Southwestern University School of Law.
