Nixon, China, Obama, Cuba
March 23, 2016
The Republican Nixon went to China and shook hands with Mao, one of the bloodiest killers in history. Yet, many Republicans are upset that Obama went to Cuba. Would they have been upset if Bush had gone to Cuba? Perhaps a few would, but most would say that it was time for it to happen. It is all politics all the time with Republicans. Too bad Obama is not personally padlocking the Guantánamo prison and closing the U.S. military base in Cuba. Now, that would really upset the war-crazed, military-worshiping Republicans who long for the Cold War.
