Never Trust an Oil Billionaire

Not when he’s discussing “public policy” – that is, using the State to further enrich himself. That was true of John D. Rockefeller, a great entrepreneur who tried to get the US to declare war on Britain over oil in Venezuela. It’s also true of T. Boone Pickens, who wants the feds to force the rest of us to promote those ugly, eery, noisy windmills.

By the way, what does it mean to say that an industrial society is “addicted” to oil? We’re also addicted to a high standard of living. As to his protectionist, neocon moanings against international trade with Muslims, and wanting to substitute primitive windpower, show us in the market, Tee. Forget war propaganda, cartelized profits, your pals Cheney and Bush, and fascist propellorism.
