Like Marc Levin (“The Grate One”), for example. They use their platforms as authors and radio and TV show hosts, handed to them by GOP Big Money Guys as rewards for spewing the Republican party line, to go on and on and on forever about The Constitution! The Constitution! and “The Founding Fathers! The Founding Fathers!, and then when the time comes to do something about it they do nothing. NOTHING but more blabbering. All talk, no action.
Levin, as one example among many, is a lawyer. Why has he not filed a lawsuit against his governor for obliterating the liberties supposedly guaranteed by both his state and the federal constitution? Why hasn’t he organized his fellow neocons to sue the federal government for the same reason? Isn’t he a lawyer and a constitutionalist? Why has not one other establishment conservative done the same? Nothing but crickets from these frauds in response to the biggest attack on constitutional liberty since Lincoln. And oh yes, the last time I saw Levin being interviewed on FOX he was sure to have a framed mugshot of Abe Lincoln on display right behind his left shoulder. Just as a priest would have a picture of Jesus or a rabbi a picture of Moses.
Lincoln once said that the man who stands silent when his government is being criticized is guilty of treason. Not supporting the enemy, but simply remaining silent. That was Lincoln’s way of re-defining treason from “levying war” upon the free and independent states, as stated in Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution, to criticisms of himself and his policies. To paraphrase The Great Atheist, the “constitutional” conservative who does nothing when civil liberties are abolished is a hypocritical windbag.
