Naturally, Our Rulers Hate The “Liberator”

“Those handy digital blueprints that enable anyone to 3D print gun parts or even a weapon from scratch could be under threat thanks to a new proposal from the State Department.”

As Mark Luedtke, who sent me the article quoted above, put it, “That didn’t take long.”

The State Department is pulling a Supreme Court on us: changing the definitions of words, in this case “export” rather than “marriage.” Using as their excuse that someone in another country could download blueprints for a gun, the bureaucrats pretend a “digital file” is an “export.” They’re also destroying the business that Cody Wilson–a hero on the order of Ross Ulbricht and Ed Snowden–founded by “forcing [him and his associates, Defense Distributed] to remove blueprints of the ‘Liberator'”–oh, boy, I love that name!–“3D-printed gun of off [sic] their website.”

Cheer as Mr. Wilson calls the dictators on their dictatorship: “This is a direct action on behalf of the Obama administration to control public speech about guns on the Internet … They cynically redefine any posting of any technical data to be an ‘export,’ and thereby claim that it isn’t speech. It’s surreal and they’re getting away with it. … It’s speech control to regulate the gun culture… It’s not coming, like some are suggesting. It is here and I’ve been threatened with it and complete ruin for over two years.”

Under the bureaucratic regime with which Progressives replaced the Constitution’s republic, serfs may “comment” on this tyranny until August 3rd. But nothing compels Our Rulers to heed us. I’ve looked in vain for the form on which to submit those comments at the Export Control Reform Initiative’s website; if you locate it, please send me the link to post here.
