Morale Falling in the Legions

According to the London Times:

American soldiers serving in Afghanistan are depressed and deeply disillusioned, according to the chaplains of two US battalions that have spent nine months on the front line in the war against the Taliban.

Many feel that they are risking their lives — and that colleagues have died — for a futile mission and an Afghan population that does nothing to help them, the chaplains told The Times in their makeshift chapel on this fortress-like base in a dusty, brown valley southwest of Kabul.

Read the rest. And note that the job of military chaplains is to make killing a happy work, and that they are, in these cases anyway, failing. Note also that the US killing of 4-6 million Southeast Asians only ended when the troops rebelled. Of course, most of them were slave-soldiers. Still, this reaction in Afghanistan, as naive as it is, is good news. It makes foreign invasions and occupations more difficult. But can you believe those gooks not being willing to help armed aliens kill their fellow countrymen, for an alien regime’s own purposes?
