Michael Kinsley on Ron Paul and Libertarianism

January 12, 2008

Good for Michael Kinsley. Despite the unfortunate title of this piece, he at least tries to grapple with some of the problems raised by the real libertarianism of Ron Paul for the Beltway worldview. Michael had done an earlier piece, also fascinating-flawed in Time. I’ll always remember when he first met Murray Rothbard and exclaimed, “I read you in college!”

Walter Block, who is referenced here, if not by name, will write about both these articles, but Michael, keep it up. And how about editing something again? The New Republic and Slate were extraordinary under your guidance. (Thanks to Chris Manion.)
