Manning Up

Thanks to TimmyTaes, I have a new hero: Manning Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was a knowledgeable and solemn warrior against Marxism, having  “joined the US Communist Party in 1931 and worked as an Organizer in Buffalo, NY, until he transferred to New York City where he joined the National Committee of the Communist Party. He left the Party in 1940,” thoroughly disillusioned, disgusted with its evil and brutality, and determined to save his fellow blacks from Marxism. He had discovered that far from eliminating racial bigotry, this Satanic philosophy encourages and thrives on it.

When Mr. Johnson was a young visionary, “…a Negro graduate of the Lenin Institute in Moscow” convinced him that

the end of capitalism would mark the beginning of an interminable period of plenty, peace, prosperity and universal comradeship. All racial and class differences and conflicts would end forever after the liquidation of the capitalists, their government and their supporters. … Little did I realize until I was deeply enmeshed in the Red Conspiracy, that just and seeming grievances are exploited to transform idealism into a cold and ruthless weapon against the capitalist system—that this is the end toward which all the communist efforts among Negroes are directed.

In other words, black people were (and remain) a mere tool to Marxists. Mr. Johnson suffered worse abuse from commies than he had from “capitalist” Americans.

Being a Negro top communist, I was placed on the National Negro Commission, an important sub-committee of the National Committee of the Communist Party. On this Commission, which was created on direct orders from Moscow to facilitate the subversion of the Negroes, I began to realize the full implications of how the Negro is used as a political dupe by the Kremlin hierarchy. Under the guise of “unity of black and white in the struggle,” several top white communists … were placed on the National Negro Commission. These white communists wielded more power than the nominal Negro heads of the Commission. In a word, they are like white overseers. Every Negro member was aware of the fact that these white overseers constituted the eyes, the ears and the voice of the Kremlin. Moreover, these white overseers are the surest functional guarantee of the maintenance of the hierarchial authoritarian control of the Kremlin over their Negro lick spittles directing the conspiracy among Negroes in America.

Indeed, it is the white group on the National Negro Commission that holds full sway. They flatter one or two top Negroes by making them feel they are actually participating in the formulation of policy by consulting with them prior to meetings of the Commission. Then these two Negroes are assigned to lay down the line to the other Negroes on the Commission. The white members check to make sure they do. Their opinion of what a Negro member says at a meeting can either make or break him. …

Though the term didn’t yet exist, Mr. Johnson became a whistle-blower, or, in his own, far more eloquent words, he vowed “that forever after I would conscientiously and vigorously oppose [communism], vocally and spiritually.” He dedicated himself to warning Americans in general and black ones in particular of Marxism’s crimes against humanity. To that end, he wrote Color, Communism and Common Sense (which includes such enticing chapters as “Subverting Negro Churches” and “Bane of Red Integration”) and also testified before the “COMMITTEE ON UN-AMERICAN ACTIVITIES” in the US House. I have only skimmed his comments there, but he explores communists’ predation of kids and teens, their determination to convert all of America to their idolatry, their virulent atheism (which, I would argue, isn’t atheism at all but worship of an infernal trinity: the State, Satan, and violence)  and insistence that Marxism cannot co-exist with other religions.

So effective a crusader against totalitarianism was this former communist that when he died, rumors swirled his former fellow-travelers had assassinated him. Meanwhile, Mr. Johnson was one of numerous eyewitnesses to Marxist horrors who cautioned Americans against this diabolical system.

Progressives who have betrayed Americans to this nightmare did so with their eyes wide open.
